Well, I did it. Made the first podcast ever on Tealart. Provides a tiny bit of background on Tealart, myself, recent news in PA and a few good bands. So, take a listen and tell me what you think.

I’m tempted to start producing my own podcast soon and I wonder what people think about it? No real goal or type setting for it, just random talking much like TA is supposed to be
So now the country understands whats coming and watches as morbid fascination of the monster she-devil that is now baring down on the Gulf Coast again. You’d think it’d be standard practice now, that the government (local, state, etc.) would have finally pulled their collective heads out of their asses and gotten organized.
To an extent, they have. They’ve prepped thousands of tons of food, water, and supplies for the entire region. Marines, almost 1,000 ready to be amphibiously deployed. Thousands of national guard and rescuse personal it looks like they might be doing something right. Hell, they even declared evacuations (manditory!) at the beginning of this week.
And, many people have left. Most of the people in Galvaston, Texas (sp?) have now left their island which was the location of the worst hurricane disastor in recorded U.S. history.
Houstons also clearing out, 4 million people live there roughly not counting the thousands additionally that were added after Katrina. Currently, there’s only five or six lanes running out of the city and an ENTIRE side of the highway empty and not being used.
The best part…13hrs to go 48 miles. 13 hrs idling a car, which burns more gas than actually driving. Almost 100f heat so add the a/c. Hundreds of people are out of gas, gas stations are tanked and just now the federal government is talking about tanking gas in.
Please, fire everyone at FEMA. Fire everyone planning disastor management. You guys are screwups and deserve to be left directly in the path of the storm. The thousands of deaths from Katrina and Rita will rest forever on your hearts, minds and souls.
My anger is just overwelming over the sheer incompetence we’ve seen displayed by our countries government this month. May god have mercy on our souls.
Btw, if you want live coverage (independent) from New Orleans, check out The Interdictor. If you want live reports from Texas, which is currently considered to be the targeted location, check out Stormwatchers.
I’ll try and keep providing more info and links from sources like CNN to public blogs. I have so much more to say and this weekend, I’ll have the time to say it.
I’m sure someone in the next few months will notice that there’s been a slight change in the look at TA. I got bored this evening and decided to do the following:
1.) Updated to the newest (1.5.2) WP release. 2.) Installed Spam Karma 2 & Referrer Block 3.) Tweaked the .htaccess file to try and block more referrer spam 2.) Cleaned up our sidebar
Now Im sure some will look at this as a step backward but frankly the massive listing of categories was pretty redundent and so was displaying archives for the entire life of this site. That was over 36 silly extra lines to read. I also took out some of the crap like login button, logout, etc. since, well, we don’t use the damn features.
All of this is really leading up to an eventual redesign of this site. I’ve got more free time now and I think it could use a freshening up a bit. Anyone know an easy way to remove all the spam from our Awstats log? I’ve been lookin around and its either all by hand or a nightmare of scripts. Show us some love! ;)Thats all for now.
Ya know, I swear philly is just great at cheering a man up. Some of you might be wondering what type of crack I’m smoking saying a statement like that (city of brotherly love my ass) but truely, just take a moment to listen. I truely despise the Philadelphia Eagles. I think they’re one of the most over-rated teams in football right now and just love seeing them choke.
So, watching them lose 14-10 last night to the Atlanta Falcons was the perfect pick-me up. The Eagles have been getting hyped up so freakin much it was great to see them knocked off the high horse. To see T.O. be owned by a freshman starter and McNab crushed multiple times by a sea of red was classic.
Good times. Hopefully it’ll keep happening throughout the rest of the season. I can’t wait till they face the Steelers!
