Well, as you can see we finally made the jump to version 1.5 of Wordpress which is much improved over the older versions. It feels faster, it’s got many of the options and functionalities that we lost when we moved from Quarto (built in page support, anyone?) and most importantly - vastly improved spam functionality!
Where before it would take me almost an hour to delete 300 comments through WP’s interface, now it took five seconds. Yes, that was a sigh of relief you heard from my mouse. Anyways, we still have to migrate and setup our old theme as well as learn the ins and outs of ver. 1.5 but it shouldn’t take us too long.
I do have to send a shout out to angsuman for his much slimmed down dashboard hack. It removes all the RSS syndication crap on the admin homepage which took load times down from about 10-15 seconds to less than .14s.
