Just wanted to provide everyone a note that we’re now moderating comments on Tealart. The reason is that in the past week there’s been over 50+ spam comments placed on various entries. I don’t want to improve their google rank at all by letting them hit us up so thats the solution until we impliment some spam blocking functionality. In the coming days we’ll probably shut down commenting on entries older than 15 days since thats where the majority of the comments end up.
So, if your comments don’t show up the moment you hit submit, thats why. I generally get to accepting the comments within 30mins of them being submitted but occasionally there might be a longer delay. We apologize, but its the best we can do. Now, to work on our damn referrer logs.
Its a sad fact that many of the Linux man pages aren’t worth crap unless you have a degree in understanding greek. The Shutdown command is one that does not benefit from their rather obtuse language. So, for those that stumble at the same point I was:
shutdown [argument] [-t secs] time
the -t is only to be used if you’re specifiying an actual daily time for the system to shutdown. If you want the system to go down now, then you would replace “time” with “now.”
